Sweet the small stuff

 With tiny apologies to fellow MU fans.......... Bll Self.  To those in our big world (Ahm, Victor, like only 7 people read this daily.)... To those in our big world, Bill Self is the Basketball coach for the University of Kansas.  A pretty darn good one. This message will 'self destruct' (pun mebbe intended) in 2 minutes.  What WAS that show?

Back to Self.  Five, count 'em, FIVE NCAA Level 1 violations (the UH OH, deep doggy do variety) a few years back, finally settled.  Tiny wrist slap. Then, Mr.Self had some severe heart problems that caused him to completely miss coaching games his teams played in the NCAA tourney.

Victor, damnit.  MORE sports. Your title indicates 'sweet the small stuff', you've gone on two paragraphs about sports.  Sorry, kinda.  To kinda finish Sports, KU was the #1 ranked team to begin the season, they've not been very good (I know, I know, better than MU), they've lost ten games, finished tied for 5th (unheard of in Phoggyville), best two players have been hurt, lost the last two games by 20 and 30..... but, Self has learned as he's aged, the health scare kinda awakened him......... now. he relates "It's helped me to learn to let go of little things and be more patient."

Don't sweat the small stuff.  As we age, we hear that more and more.

Since KU is the arch rival of MY Missouri Tigers.... my (tiny hand) is forced to take up for small things. (Please don't look at my thumb size, thanks.)

Golf balls.  I really suck at golf, but golf balls are small. Golf balls been bery bery good to me.

Coins. Coworker, young'n, as we divvied up tips at then end of the day, "You go ahead and take the change, I don't like it."  Hell to the yes   Pennies make nickels, nickels/dimes, dime and nickel make quarters, change makes BUCKS.  I'll take those smal coins, TYVM.

Dogs, cats.  Almost without exception, they're smaller than us.  With rare exception, they're hella more loyal, fun, and NEVER in a bad mood.  Small ain't so bad.

I like small people.  Grandkids are smaller.  Some'a my buddies are.  Our old PE teacher usedta say "It aint the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size o the fight in the dog."

Gal who opened up our office building at 6am. (Victor, you've told this one before... Sorry, baby bears repeating.)  Well, they invested tons a money into the building, and onea the cost saving investments was for no lights to come on until motion was detected.  Well, she was barely 5' sumpin, when she walked in the door, NOPE, no lights.  She made it to her desk, NOPE, no lights.  So she stood on the damn chair.  YEP, lights.  (Shortsided of the architects eh?)

Small bricks make pyramids.

Some yummy small things.  A hug.  A tail wag, even if it's a dog.  Compound interest. Compliments.  Sunshine.  Well I love a rainy night.  Incense and peppermint.

Clean sheets. Laughing till it hurts.  Finding a $20 in your jean pocket. Receiving a compliment.  Giving a compliment.  Smiles.  When your favorite song comes on the radio  Old pictures. "It's on sale!"  A massage, especially if it's free. Rainbows. Bubble wrap, hell to the yeah. For me, that QUISSSSHH noise when you pop a top.  The bathroom stall is empty.

Short blogs. OK OK OK, I get it.

Small is big.

A little can be a lot.

The little basta's in them mole hills can be mountainously hated.

Small favor?  Victor, you gonna preach?  Not no's, hells to the no's.  OK, mebbe, but not my intent.  My intent is a happier world for us all to live in.  The small favor is, give someone your smile today.  It's so easy to fall in love. No, that ain't it.  It's so easy to give a smile. Ya just never knows the list of little things going thru the other person's brain that might loom large.

Yeah yeah yeah, even smile at Bill Self if you can catch him.  Better hurry though, as I think they're done after Thursday.  Small sorry, kinda.
