Mussenheimer, Wassenheimer, Schottenheimer polka... A Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff Sr.. .. Bueller... Bueller... Bueller..

If you happen to remember, I'm very old, as in, 71.  If you've been awake here, first, congrats, I know it's gotta be difficult, and second, you'll know much I refer to happened way before Y2K.

For instance, we were playing Trivial Pursuit (See?  Toldya!) and the question was....... "What is the most common German surname... and lo and behold........  Schultz (or some variation of)..  Of course, Smith here..  howabout Nguyen in VietNam.

Wiki done tells me that Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff Sr name is theeeeee longest personal name.. His name is made up of 27 names.  The first 26 are made up of each letter of the alphabet, in order, followed by that long damn Wolf.... thing.  Like:  Adolph Blaine Charles David Earl Frederick Gerald Hubert Irvin John Kenneth Lloyd Martin Nero Oliver Paul Quincy Randolph Sherman Thomas Uncas Victor William Xerxes Yancy Zeus... Would you believe he was a typesetter (born, 1914.)  Hell, he probably got overtime just putting those cast metal sorts in order to spell his name. Can you picture he in KiddyGarten with a #2 lead and his Big Chief tablet?

Ya stroll thru the internet, ya find some curious, weird, are-you-kidding-me real names like:  Angus Pattie.... Autumn Fogg...  Hans Ohff... and, the poor feller, Tiny Kox.

My own father, Edward Colby (cheese) Schultze.. he, who donned "Victurd", said, had I been a gal, I was gonna be Ophelia Fanny.  Funny ha ha pa. (Cheese was poor attempt to get-back.)

I am certain we all have run across some strange names in the past... taught school where we had a Rick Shaw.. our Cross Country coach/teacher in HS was Richard Leeker, but, why oh why oh why, he went by "Dick"...   geez..   then, Google shares:  Orange... Dracula.. Tequila Mockingbird (I get it!).. Felonie... Pubert, no.. just no..  Lice.  WHY?

Ninety-seven percent of kiddos born are given their father's last name.  Rocky might sing take you back, do do do do, take you back. to 1975 when only 3% of women kept their surname after marriage.. that number was up to 20% a few decades later.

In China, they take their sweet time.  They wait 100 days before giving kiddos their name. The kiddos are given a 'milk name', only known to mom and dad, before the real deal comes along.

Oft times, Spain and Latin America, ya get the surame of your father first, and the second surname from your mom.

Truth known, I was reading about name traditions Worldwide, got bored, almost fell asleep - so, ain't gonna tellya much about them for fear you may zonk too.  Most traditions, some form of "First son after Father's father, or Mom's father.. mebbe even dad or mom's grandfather.. similar for the little lady.

Traveled once to St. Thomas.. my ONE and ONLY exotic (to me anyways) trip. space so scarce to build, when a family has a baby, and the baby is ready to fly from the nest, there ain't no room to go anywhere, so...... another level it built on toppa the house.  Victor, that ain't got Diddley to do with names.  I know.  Were you aware Ellas Otha Bates is Bo Diddley's given name?  Nope, wasn't.

There's given names of animals..... Birdie, Lark, Raven, Robin, Sparrow, Wren.

Given names of colors..... Bianca, Cherry, Jade, Pinkie, Ruby (you painted up your lips and rolled curled  your tinted hair), Violet.

Seasons:  Autumn, Spring, Summer, Winter..    Gemstones:  Amber, Amethyst, Coral, Emerald, Jewel, Opal

From the list of World's Fastest Autograph signers, these LPGA golfers:  Ko, Lee, Kim, Li, Lin, Yin, An, Liu, Im, as in, I'm finished with those, you're welcome.

This is boring Victor.

OK.  Sorry.

S'more..  Chris P. Bacon, Sam Sung, Mr. Perv is an actual 5th grade teacher..   Saw a picture of a groupa, mebbe 2nd graders, teachers were Mrs. Weiner and Mrs. Butt.  Moe Lester. Donald Duck.  Kash Register.  Crystal Methven. Janice Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele. Wowser.

I ain't askingya to copy, paste anything.  I won't have you list 50 states and X the ones you've been too.. I won't list a hunnerd foods and haveya check "hell to the no" on the ones you won't eat..

BUT........ humor me perty please.  In your time, what strange names have you come across?

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." William Shakespeare

Love, Victurd
