Blue skies......

Color me weird, but you knew that.

I love to sit outside... and observe any, everything in the eyeball's way......

I thoughta that song... Blue skies, smilin' at me...

Many pounds, wrinkles, years ago, I liked to dig.  Somewhere around the time I passed my driver's test, had'a job, bucks in my billfold - I bought a  cheapy metal detector.  Digging, detecting, it's kinda like uncertainties of life, the skies... ya hear that beep-beep-beep, bend down (hell to the no I wouldn't/couldn't do that hobby now) and DIG.  Who knows what you'll unearth.  Usually one'a the old metal tab thingies off the top of a pop.. or'a chunk of foil.. but occasionally, a penny, nickel or dime.. if you were lucky, it would be a Wheat penny, or mebbe a Bufalo nickel... twas fun.  You dig?

Back to sitting outside.  Ya just never know what the eyes, ears will dig up.  The sky is usually a wonderfully diverse example, no matter what hemi you live in.

I got my 'metal detector' thingy (in this case, Wiki) to dig a bit further about the song Blue Skies, smiling at me.  I usually think'a Willie or Ella and their versions..  after digging... It was written in 1926 by Irving Berlin as a last minute addition to the Rodgers and Hart musical Betsy.  While the show only ran for 39 performances - the song Blue Skies was a huge hit. If you're old like me, think back to an obliging Ed McMahan asking Johnny "How huge was it?"

Belle Baker played the lead in the play and of course, sang Blue Skies..  Opening night, after Blue Skies, there were twenty-four encores (I went back and reread to make sure I read that correctly, yep, 24.)  On the very last rendition, Belle forgot the lyrics to the song, Berlin was sitting in the front row - thus, he began singing them.

My metal detector, after s'more damn digging, learned, the next year this song was sung by Al Jolson in the very first talkie movie, the Jazz Singer...

OK Victor, ,we get all that crap, but what's it got to do with you sitting, staring at the skies?

LOTS, me thinks.  Sometimes ya look up, it's simply blue.  A beautiful blue, but it don't do much.  Last night as I sat outside - there were very low HUGE clouds 'moving like 60' (If any of you Liberty folks remember teacher Ms. Bonita Allen saying).. the clouds, they was a movin fast.  WAY UP ABOVE the moving like 60 clouds..  big, white puffy ones, and they wasn't going nowheres.  Ain't that like life?  To me, Si.  Hurry (usually a youthful 'trait') and, "that's Uncle Joe he's a movin' kinda slow at the Junction", them clouds up above.

About that time my ears kicked in.  Across the street, a local 'Jam session'.  "You have instrument (or even justa singing voice) come, play, sing."  There was a young lass..  I'm guessing 12 or 13, gutsy, and so, so very good. She sang like 60, never missed a beat.. by herself, later with a dude strumming.. refreshing, akin to them fast, low clouds up in the kinda blue sky.

Next, a lady, I'ma guessing she gets a monthly Social Security check, sang acapella.  She too, very nice, smooth voice. She did get held up (kinda like Belle did), but for only a second until she flipped the page continue the lyrics, but, hells bells, there are days I wakeup and haveta check the pillbox just to see what day it is.

Then, another feller.  Goatee...  kinda a nifty looking one.. like, he'd been growing it mebbe 8 or 10 years before the young going like 60 gal was born. His music was enjoyable as well.

Blue skies.  Diverse.

Life, people, diverse.

Finally, later last night......... last view..... Gray. Sky was gray, Clouds gone, blue was transitioning to night. Across the street, silence, accompanied by empty chairs.

I'm a simpleton.  The night, the skies, the people, the music, the errors, the wonder, the digging... I canardly await today, tomorrow, for one just never knows what life will dig up.

More coffee.  Mebbe a nap later. All, akin to putting new AAA batteries in my 'metal detector.'

I never saw the sun shining so brightNever saw things going oh-so rightNoticing the days hurrying byWhen you're in *love, my how they fly
Blue daysAll of them goneNothing but blue skiesFrom now on

*Editor's note, or, Victurd's note..  In 'love' with life.

Peace out.............. Victurd

PS:  I know Ms. Allen meant really fast when referring to 'going like 60'..  now, seems like that (age 60) mighta been the last time I moved really fast.  OK, right you are, kinda fast.

PSS.. I always get confused on whether it's GREY or GRAY.  Metal detector beep beep beeped Google, learned GRAY is more common in the US, and GREY is more common in the rest of the English speaking World.  Ahm, still... that's kinda grey... or gray to me, whatever. (Victor, you need a hobby)  Bite me, writing my blog IS a hobby.

Liam and Olivia.........

What's in a name?

(Insteada Victurd, my admitted name should be Plagiarism.  Oh well. Humor me.)

The results are in... .according to them census takers, from their pavement pounding travails of 2023, announce, THE most popular new baby names in the US to be, Liam for boys, Olivia for girls.

"My grandmother's sister didn't have a name, either legally or socially, until she was 6. Her parents couldn't agree on one so they just called her Baby." (Borrowed from somewhere on the internet.)

"My son was born at home but taken to a hospital immediately after. The hospital issued him a birth certificate when they shouldn’t have. After a series of hijinks, he now exists twice. Two birth certificates from two different states and two social security numbers. Trust no one." (With tongue squarely in cheek, how else are we Dems to win elections?)

"My grandma and her sister were pregnant at the same time.  My grandma said "If I have a boy, I'm naming him George."  "That's a nice name" her sister replied.  A month later, grandma's sister had her baby, a boy, and yep, SHE named him George. Grandma just said "Congrats."   Three weeks later, Grandma had my uncle, announced him to the family "Welcome baby George!"  Sister starts throwing a  fit, "YOU CAN'T, that's MY baby's name.. .we can't have cousins with the same name!"  Grandma said, "I'd told you what my son's name would be." (By George she had!)

"I'm named Macy because my mom went into labor at Macy's." (Glad it wasn't Piggly Wiggly.)

"My mom named me after Merry Christmas because I was born in December and she was high on the epidural. But she flipped it and named me Christina Marie."

"My daughter looked a little like a cartoon duck in her first sonogram picture, so we nicknamed her ducky. Later, while looking for names, we found that Della was Donald Duck’s sister (and Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s mom). We instantly knew that Della would be her name."

"I’m named Acadia after Acadia National Park where I was conceived...on top of a mountain." (Wow, glad it wasn't QuikTrip... or like, Bed, Bath and Beyond.)

Opie, uh huh, that guy Ron Howard and his wife, decided to give their children the middle name of where they were conceived.  Thus, there's Bryce Dallas Howard... his sister's middle name Carlyle (after the Hotel)... and then there's the baby brother, middle name Cross after the street they lived on.  Opie would always funny-ha-ha "I didn't want to call him 'Back of the Volvo,' right Barney?"

And these folks tongue and cheeked what their name would be, had their folks given them a birth name of where conceived:

Upstairs.......... Campervan....  Bedroom (boring)..   Big Joe Beanbag...  Grandma's Living Room Floor... Shower (or Balcony, not sure which did the trick)...  Target Parking Lot...  Drunken Super Bowl Party..

The internet said (we should believe it, yeah?) in Finland, folks wait 5-6 weeks to name their child, then, the name must be sent to a bureau that approves the name weeding out all the names that are unsuitable, basically anything that sounds insulting, punny, or vulgar. (Kinda like license plates here I guess.)

Interesting (that's your call), real names........  Moon Unit........  Portabella.. .   Phelony...  Marijuana (born in the 70's, now a teacher in Wisconsin, "It's never touched my lips."  Uh huh, right)  Spicy.. .Wealthy..  Vanity..(wonder if that one has anything to do with conception location").    Otter. (twin maybe? The Otter one?).. A friend has two cats, Larry and NotLarry.

Twins...... real ones..  again, so the internet says...... Shale and Slate..   Adam and Eva..  Razzle and Dazzle... "My classmates (boy and girl twins) were named Aidan and Nadia. It took me a long time to figure that they were just reversed."  I, Victurd, coached at a school where two boys were named Skip and Scoot.. by, their dad, the football coach - who, obviously, envisioned them in the same backfield.

S'more real ones..........Rick Shaw (say it real fast)...   Dick Swett..  Sam Sung.. . the 5th grade teacher, Mr. Perv..   P. Ennis..  geez..  Chris P. Bacon... Dr. Whet Faartz.. Crystal Methven.. Krystal Ball..  "OK Children, take out your Big Chief tablets.. Yes, Janice Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele what's your question?"  Lieutenant Les McBurney (Sun Prairie Fire Department).  Jack Daniels.. Will this marriage last? Hardy-Harr? ..  Jed I. Knight..  Dick Long (I know, Sophomoric... but, true... more?  My cross country coach in HS was named Richard Leeker, but, he didn't go by that.  Uh huh.  Really.)...  Jack Goff... I'm sorry.. I'M REALLY SORRY!

Show me the door, I'll go now............

Love, Ophelia Fanny (that is what my papa said my name would be had I been a girl)

TGFH............ Dandruff....

That be Thank Goodness For Humor.

Dandruff = I'm a flake, or, as L&L Motors said, I'm weird.  I'll buy that.

Dandruff = Headscratching.

Sprinkled within, pics a father photoshopped and sent to his wifey every time she asked how the kids are.

Headscratching.  No, not lice. Humor.  Humor, as in, attempted humor.

Headscratching = weird.

Like, going down I-435 nekked on a 4-wheeler.

Climbing Trump Towers with suction cups.  Victor, both are old news.  Si. So am I.

Kyle(s) failed.  Kyle, Texas.  In an attempt to break a Guiness World Record, 706 folks named Kyle gathered in Kyle, TX yesterday.  Well short of record.  Record by "Ivan" in Ivan, Bosnia, 2,325 Ivan's gathered there once.

With the departure of Tommie Thompson (Chief's Punter and Holder on Field Goals. Extra pomts) there is no proof to the rumor Kansas City has hired Lucy to be the new holder. No comment from Arrowhead, or, from kicker Harrison Butker....  Rumor being spread by Charles (Victurd) Shultz

Dorothy Jean Tillmon of Chicago, IL began taking college courses at age 10. Now 17, she just graduated from Arizona State with doctoral degree in integrated behavioral health at Arizona State.  Uh huh, Doctorate.  Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate.  Friends and family have donned her "Dorothy Jeanius. (Ahm Victurd, it took you 6 years to get your Bachelor's degree.  Here. Here's some dandruff, asswipe. Flick!)

You CANNOT start a sentence with the word, letter I.

I is the 9th letter of the alphabet. Nanny nanny.... stick your head in doggy do.

I have no idea where Birkina Faso is... but, the legal drinking age is 13.  I still think the above are doing so illegally.  Book 'em Mom'o.

Presently on EBay you can purchase a Popcorn Scented Pillow... Indoor snowballs to fight with...  Unicorn meat... Coffee Mug "World's Okayest Dad"..   Yodeling pickle..  Donald Trump Chia Pet (I just report 'em folks, I don't make em up, nor, try to influence voters.)

My desktop computer lasted me twelve plus years.  I have gone thru TEN laptops in the last six years. They ain't all they're cracked up to be.

Rumors running RAMPANT with Kansas City Chiefs.  With punter Tommie Thompson's departure, the Chiefs have denied rumors they are looking into hiring the guy with the extended hang time on Scotty Scheffler's car.

LG has unveiled the World's Largest Big Screen TV at 325 inches.  That's 11 toddlers, end to end.

Concord, CA.  Chuck Walker and Mike Hartshorn broke the record for continuous time riding a teeter totter for 216 hours.  When asked about their feat, Walker remarked "I thought my butt would hurt more."

Dave Johnson wrote a blog (much more entertaining than this one) on "Everything I needed to kmow about marriage I learned on a Teeter Totter in grade school."  (I wonder if any of 'em fell off.. No, you can't ask if I speak from experience.)

Canadian 9 year old Aurora van Ulft (most commonly known as Rory van Ulft) holds the record for dealifting 244 pounds, which accounts for more than three times her body weight.

On Reddit, it was once asked "What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you with a toaster?"   Someone responded 'I used a knife to retrieve stuck toast, the arc travelled up my arm, diagonally across and down my torso to my thigh and then arced across a small gap in my stove, burning a small hole in my pants and thigh and scaring the hell out of me."  No word on if it landed butter side down.

A study by Manchester Metropolitan University revealed, when dropping 100 slices of buttered toast, 81% of the time it does land buttered side down.  PETA would probably object to strapping the toast on the backa cats to solve that one, but, shhhh, I'd kinda like to see it.

A 2022 study reported 37.5% of parents drink in front of their children.  20.4% of them get slightly hammered.

Is quicksand deadly? Nah, it's denser than the human body.. People and animals get stuck in it, but, they don't get sucked down to the bottom - they float on the service.  The longest known 'stuck' person was a 6 year old girl in Scranton, and she wouldn't have been detected if it weren't for her baby brother screaming as he and his dad got in their car to go home.

6 year old Claire kept having nightmares about the boogeyman.  It got so bad, her folks took her to the Doctor. There, the Doc wrote a prescription for pills specifically "To keep the Boogeyman away."  All now good, but, her younger sister is beginning to have a bit'a trouble sleeping.

Scottie Scheffler and wife Meridith had their first child May 8.  There is no truth to the rumor his father used to drag him atop the car in his childhood.

"Do not believe everything you read on the internet.'  Nostradamus

Victor, get outta here.

OK.

Paint anyways......

On a scale of 1 to 100 (with 1 being the best), I would rank as the 100th (ie, last) person you'd call for........ advice on relationships...  quitting smoking.... investing... and....... painting.  Self deprecation, that's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it.  Well, not like, but, mebbe shrug shoulders and attempt justification with, meh, whatever.

The painting part.

To me, that's kinda like life.  We be in the driver's seat of life...  We steer, hit the gas, press the brake - and if ever oh ever an outta the ordinary happens (divorce, loss of job, a child divorces, some family moves away, any kinda upset the four wheeled apple cart) - it's like, uh oh, now, not only do we gotta steer, press gas, press brake,....... now, there's a clutch, both feet are involved - and all-of-a-sudden, life is akin to being stopped, going uphill, at a stop sign,  Left foot on clutch, right foot on brake, and, of course, the guy'/gal behind you affords you 9 inches to let that foot off the brake, release the clutch, hit the gas while simultaneously praying.

Many, stop driving.  Park that sucker under the carport, in the 3 car garage.. .out back by the outhouse. Yup, huh uh, no way, life is hard enough, seeya, wouldn't wanna beya.

So Victor, you've set the stage of yuck... this, I suppose, is where you "look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane... no, it's (Preacher) SUPERVICTURD! AHM, NO, it's not.

This, I guess, is more about never giving up...  or, back to painting, at least starting, trying, giving it a whirl.

Backing up a tad... not quite all the way to the Big Chief days, but, close.  I have been a self imposed victim of dogeared notebook pages.. writing with the wrong damn hand so the 'butt' of my palm smudges everything as I write from left to right... all combined with, talent, LACK THEREOF artistically.

A few years back, I was either sleepwalking, or, I'd accidentally taken a double dosage of some kinda med I was on, and I snapped out of it in the Arts and Crafts aisle at WallyWorld. I bought a set of cheapy acrylic paint, three 10x14 blank canvas thingys (one for each grand) - checked out, headed home, thinking to self "YOU are a big idiot."  It's ok, I've cussed me plenty of times.

I had school pics of two, a toddler pic of the other, and away I went to paint.  Staring at a blank canvas is a hunnerd and ninety times scarier than staring at a blank blog page.  I cheated, kinda sorta.  I 'blew up the pics' the best I could... measured every dadgum distance I could measure (outside of ear to inside of right eye.. width of nose at the bottom...  distance between eyebrow, eye, etc.

It took me roughly three weeks, I ruined four longsleeve shirts (see above about dragging butt of left hand thru everything).. but... I finished em.  While they looked more like characters from, say, The Simpsons, than, my actual grandkids.. I went against better judgement and gave the pics to 'em.  They all got laughs, I think enjoyed - so it had a good end.

Sometimes, life itself, EVEN when things are going well - is, can be difficult.. you throw all those additional life upheavals - and, carport it is, I'm dumping my truck in the back forty so it'll get weeds, flat tires, rusty, that.

No, no, no, no.  Remember in Animal House when Bluto (John Belushi) came to his senses, prodded the Deltas on with "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? ..Nothing is over until we decide it is.!"

Baseball.  Three hits in ten at bats is considered All-Star like.  The best of the best, Steph Curry, makes 42 out of 100 three-point tries.

Start the car, or FOB it, however that works. Jump in, forget self doubt but remember the seatbelt.  Pop the clutch and go, go go! Paint. Go to church. Read at the library.  Take a fitness class. Go to the community pool (trust me, there is similar ugly to me).. Just get up, out.  "Never give up" that Jimmy V says.

You say, "Yes", I say, "No" (I say, "Yes", but I may mean, "No")You say, "Stop", I say, "Go, go, go" (I can stay still it's time to go)Oh, oh no

Hela, heba, helloa, hela heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloaHela, heba, helloa, (hela) hela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloaHela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloa...   Whatever in the hell that means.

Point being.  Git up, go.  Ain't no one perfect.  Always wanted to try something but afraid you'd suck?  Who cares?  It ain't the grade... it's getting off that uphill grade with the clutch, brake both pressed.  Out on the open road where the grade is level for all, life is yummy, even when the view sometimes ain't.

Come out of a relationship that fell many, many years short of the Golden Anniversary?  Right you are, never try again.  Joshing, I say BS.

Victurd say "Been there, avoided that."  Then, I finally got the truck out from under the carport, outta the garage, from the back forty, and went.  Ya know, it felt pretty good.  Painting, SURE, twas terrible, but it felt oh so dang good.

Miyagi say "Paint the fence."  Advice?  Just ask Sherwin Williams.

Hela, heba, helloa, hela heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloaHela, heba, helloa, (hela) hela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloaHela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloa, hela, heba, helloa...   Whatever in the hell that means.

You've got a friend........

I love me some James Taylor music.  Got tickets to see him sometime this Summer.  At Starlight Theather, which, just as it sounds, you can look up and see stars light up (ie, it's outdoor, RAIN RAIN GO (AND STAY) AWAY.

When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, oh, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights
Them's James's words, but ain't friendship wonderful?
I Googled "All about friends" and come to find out, it's a kid's book.  Nice.  I assume it was all about you, another, sitting in the sandbox. You let 'em play with your plastic hammer (vs bop em on the head), ya hug, then go back to whatever you were doing... go home, bathe, get the sand outta your crevices, play with onea your other buddies, like, rubby ducky mebbe.
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh, yeah, baby
To see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you've got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah
You've got a friend
Then, I found another article when seeking to learn all about friends...  Seems it says "There are 5 requirements""..  holy crap.  I thought all ya had to do was get a tee time, hit balls into the lake, woods, 3 putt, go back to the deck at the clubhouse after, toss down a couple, talk about sports, women, cars, hips, knees, 'did you see that gal in the white skort?", that stuff. (S'more in a sec)
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud now
Soon I'll be knocking upon your door
Back to the article.  The five things.   Trust.  Equality.  Compassion.  Honesty.  Independence. Being (proudly) from the Boomer generation, my initial thought was "Sign, sign, everywhere a sign" (rebel, resist, hell no we won't go, ask why, yada) but, I actually kinda like those five things.
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh, yes, I will
To see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall, yeah
All you've got to do is call
___And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah
Independence.  That's a BIG'n.  Sometimes 'it' just ain't inya, you say "nah, I can't today... i gotta (make something up here, not maliciously, just to not hurt their feelings)... or. say "Just not feeling it today"... Usually no questions asked over and above "You ok?"
Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you and desert you
Well, they'll take your soul if you let them
Oh, yeah, but don't you let them
"My friends are my estate."  Emily Dickinson
I WOULD add Humility to that list of five.  Sometimes, quite frequently actually, you, they, say something where you EARN a razzing, teasing, made fun of. (Like, say, you throw your golf club.. for a new distance, speed record... so... the next time your foursome plays, you meet at the first tee, and your three buddies are wearing bicycle helmets for their protection.)  That kinda stuff.
You just call out my name
And, you know, wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Oh, baby don't you know 'bout
Winter, spring, summer or fall
Hey, now, all you've got to do is call
Lord, I'll be there, yes, I will
You've got a friend
OK, add a 7th to the friend list.  Opposite sex friends.  No hanky pank, simply friends.  I truly have been lucky to have a perty decent list of female friends made in my lifetime.  When you are with your male buds, you do stupid, disgusting things male buds do...  fart, spit... cuss, pee behind the tree on the golf course, but when conversing with the opposite sex, there are unwritten rules of things not to say, it's honored, and, convo's can be, usually are rewarding, yummy.
You've got a friend, yeah
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend?
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend?
Oh, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend

"I don't need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod, my shadow does that much better.'  Plutarch  (I'm a simpleton, I ain't never hearda him, but I likes that.)

FRIENDS.  They smile when they see you.  If you did stupid things with them back in the day (or hell, last Tuesday for that matter) they approach you with (sorry to cuss) a shit eatin' grin. Them'r the best, my book. Friends are in every corner.  Every whatever ya do (work school, church, play, bunko, book club... tell me who are the people in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, right Elmo?... those folks).

Friends karaoke together.  Just kidding, but, it's your turn:

You're my best friend
With a little help from my friends
You've got a friend
Lean on me

FOOD.  WATER.  AIR.  SHELTER.  FRIENDS

Like Sly said, I want to thank you for lettin' me be myself, again.

Love, your friend, Victurd

Now........

"How now... what is in you?"  Said one Billy Shakespeare........ Linguists everywhere... ok, a lotta places... studied and studied (in depth) what Billy meant by this..... they reached the conclusion, twas "Hello". So, Hello.

How now brown cow........ is a phrase used in elocution teaching to demonstrate the diphthong. Ahm, OK. Now I get it. NOT.

"Now is not the end.. It's not even the beginning of the end... But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."  Winston Churchill.

Now, I thought you spelled that Winston guy's last name like you pronounce it.  CHURCH-HILL.  Huh oh.  Now I know.  Did you know now is in know?  Me neither till I typed it and looked at it.

I WANT WHAT I WANT AND I WANT IT NOW.  They're out there.  Young'ns. Older, spoiled ones.  Entitled, or so they say/think, I think it's titled, labeled. (Now, in looking at 'titled', it looks correct, is correct, but, words are weird - Victor, WEIRD was YESTERDAY'S BLOG - oh, ok, thx.  I remember NOW.  Titled. Churchill is pronounced  CHURCH HILL, how come TITLED ain't pronounced TIT LED? (Band camp.... long ago, not so far away... i was playing golf with my best friend... one of our first times.. Victor, don't name names.  Sanford. He won't care, shoot me.  Anyways, he found a ball in the fairway. Again, both of us, wet behind ears.  He picked it up, pronounced it just as it read.......... TIT LI EST.

TITLES...... Don't stop me now.  Now and then.  It's now or never. (Which reminds me of the two Elvis's.. Now and then. Big difference, pun mebbe intended.  Ever been to Graceland, seen that shag carpet?  I have, been a long time now.)
It is over now?  That's a Taylor Swift song.  Millions are sicka Travis/Taylor/Chiefs winning.  I kinda likes it now, and then.  Threepeat, now... please.    I can see clearly now.  If you leave me now. (I wouldn't blame you now, or, ever.)  I gotcha. Victor, that doesn't have now in the title.  Yeah butt, Joe Tex continued, "Uh huh huh, you thought you'd get away NOW didn't ya,"  Uh huh huh, you thought I didn't seeya NOW didn't ya,? Uh huh huh.

Here and now.  Urban Dictionary lends "A romantic relationship based in the present time between two people who choose to enjoy and love each other, without looking back at past relationships and without allowing baggage to cloud the enjoyment of the here and now relationship."

Now you're talking. No, now I'm typing.

I wanna go now.  I don't wanna go now, or ever.  Let's talk about it now.  Now you see me, now you don't.

I love me some "Brainy Quotes" (now.)  Had Brainy Qoutes about NOW displayed on onea them tabs up there (now).. went back to get one from Mr. Ali... Had to refresh. Then, Brainy Quotes had the gaul (that how you spell it now?  Gall?  To ask if I was a human.  Pinched myself. Said "OW, NOW THAT HURT" so, they lemme back in.

"I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."  Muhammad Ali

Were you aware I am biased?  I am (now), reckon, always been.  I had the BEST mom. (Victor, we all did.)  Ok, mebbe, BUT.. she was SUPER fast on the typewriter.  She would always say, type her old practice sentence....

“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country”  It was different day, time, era I think.  Typing teachers used it because if you typed it, added the period, it exactly filled out a 70 space line.

Any day now.
Any second now.
Any minute now.
Any moment now.
Don't look now.
Every now and again.
From now on.
If looks could kill, I'd be dead now.

I'll go now. Now I've had the time of my life.  Well, not really, but, enjoyed, thanks..

Victor, NOW don't forget, flush the toilet.  Put the lid back down. Close the front door.  Lock it.  Got your wallet?  Phone? TEETH?  Shoes match? (I did that, yesterday.  I'd bought a new pair, just like my old pair that was over a year and a half old, aka, lotta wear/tear.. Got to gym, looked down. One old, One new .I'm an idiot but, you didn't just learn that now, eh?)

HE'S LEAVING!  NOW YOU'RE TALKING! (You can't spell you're correctly, no one does now.)

Good day, and now you know the rest of the story.

The road is long...

With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where, who knows whereBut I'm strongStrong enough to carry himHe ain't heavy, he's my brother
Omaha, Nebraska... . Boys Town... Founded in 1917...   a place where troubled, and or homeless boys could go for help.  Legend has it, around 1918, Father Edward Flanagan saw a boy, Reuban Granger, carrying another boy, Howard Loomis, who wore leg braces, up some stairs. Flanagan asked Granger if carrying Loomis was hard. The boy replied, “He ain't heavy, Father, he's my' brother.”
Reuban was one of many boys that would assist Howard during that time.
… So on we goHis welfare is of my concernNo burden is he to bearWe'll get there
… For I knowHe would not encumber meHe ain't heavy, he's my brother
… If I'm laden at allI'm laden with sadness That everyone's heartIsn't filled with the gladnessOf love for one another
In my outs and abouts of late, I have witnessed  SO MANY instances of 'he ain't heavy, he's my brother' (or mate, mom, dad, daughter, son, cousin, grandma, grandpa, good friend, et al) pushing a wheelchair, lending an arm, any, every form of assistance possible.  I'm sure you've witnessed as well... in fact, maybe you're one of the good hearts - or, perhaps you're on the receiving end of a good heart.
… It's a long, long roadFrom which there is no returnWhile we're on the way to thereWhy not share?
Try as we might, as a nation, to propel, exemplify, kindness, love - the big picture, overview, tags a nation of discourse, probably not fair, but, probably - when others look at our Country, it's what is front and center in their beliefs.
… And the loadDoesn't weigh me down at allHe ain't heavy, he's my brother
Thankfully, when you ZOOM in on that big picture, there are so very many examples of "He ain't heavy, he's my brother."  There's little doubt, as we look around, we've witnessed family, friends, coworkers, classmates, etc - who carry that 'he ain't heavy' load of their loved one.  You know it's gotta be heavy, but, the givers, doers, wheelchair pushers never let on of any burden.  It's their wish, their gift, their expression of love and thanks.
Many, many in need...  afflictions, addictions..memory, mental and physical disabilities.. any number of reasons a person simply can't go it on their own.  Others step in.  Or, have been there for'eer and 'e'er.  We've all heard the story of the mate who comes daily to the memory unit to visit their partner... a casual observer asks "Why do you keep coming, he/she doesn't remember you?".. "Oh, but I remember he/she"..
… He's my brotherHe ain't heavy, he's my brotherHe ain't heavy, he's my brother

Ends.  Sometimes, ends just ain't much fun.  To all those who push the wheelchair, help to put on socks, underwear, shirt, pants, feed, bathe.  Those who read, play music, sing, dance, converse... wing smiles... maybe even just sit beside for hours. Don't you ever second guess yourselves on "I wish I could do, have done, more." That, is heavy, and fer sure unwarranted.  You are amazing.

Bless you for the escort on the long road.

Thanks, to all the Reuban Grangers, who, task by task, touch by touch, word by word, step by step, stroke by stroke, paint the Big Picture of Love.
